Remembering Grandma Lil

It just dawned on me that today marks the 5th year of my Grandma Lil’s passing (just 4 months shy of her 100th birthday). She and I shared such a special bond and it is because of her that I have that wonderful stuffed cabbage to have converted into the IP with my mom. No one could make you laugh harder or feel more loved.

It just dawned on me this evening what a strange coincidence this was how I launched the website on this day. A part of me thinks she’d be proud of me. And that’s good enough for me.

Cherish your family and loved ones. Savor the seconds cooking with them and the time you’ve shared. Share their story and spread it onto others so they may leave a mark in this world – no matter how big or how small. It is up to us to carry on the legacy of others. This way they live forever.

Oh, beautiful Grandma Lil! Now it has been 10 years since you went to Heaven, and look at him go! Jeffrey has done an amazing job while you’ve been gone, and will have so many things to share when you two meet again. Thank you for instilling so much love into him it overflows into others. These recipes are a fantastic way to connect with friends and family; I have very fond memories of “Grandma recipes” that have been in our family for over 125 years. What a lovely legacy. Much love and respect, Lexi
